Is [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] still usable or is it too dated? I’m really [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] “[name_u]Jackie[/name_u]” lately, I may even pair it with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in my dream sister set. But, for some reason, it also feels very “motherish” to me.
Motherish, maybe, but that doesn’t make it unusable at all.
I can’t see it as motherly since I’m good friends with a 26 yr old [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]. Some climbing friends know her as [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], but I think it’s a great name without a nn. Definitely usable.
Totally usable. And it’s a beautiful name!
I think it’s a beautiful name, and very versatile. I personally think “[name_u]Jackie[/name_u]” is adorable. Meanwhile, [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is as sophisticated as it gets, imo.
Totally usable
I think [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] is a spunky nn that could easily make it wearable at this point. Yes, it is slightly dated, but very usable still. I’d go for it (not sure I’d use it with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] though bc of how similar they are).
Yes!! I think it is beautiful!
It still seems a tad dated to me. Although I’ve really liked every [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] I’ve ever met, it has a strong link to a specific generation in my mind.
Its a beautiful name. A couple years ago, I worked with a little girl named [name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] at a preschool. I can definitely picture it on a little girl. I also love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
I think it’s very usable, I know Jacquelines from age 5-40.
Is [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] usable? Is a completely normal, somewhat popular, correctly spelled name usable? Um, yeah.
The only problem with the name is that no one knows how to spell it. There are so many variations that most people spell it differently every time.
My question upon reading the title was: why not? I think [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is fine. I actually knew a little [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] (she spelled it differently) and she was adorable. I think [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] ages well and is sophisticated. I think [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] is a fine nn, but I think [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] could get by without a nn (just like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f], she works on her own without the nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]).
It’s usable.
Yep. I think of [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] (my favourite childhood writer) and [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] Jossa, who is pretty young and a British actress. Good thoughts come to mind. I don’t think it’s dated at all and [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] feels so retro to me, I like it.
Usable? Definitely. I’ve known plenty of [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]'s. [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] is an adorable nn.
I think it’s perfectly usable. [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] feels very dated to me, but it’s probably because I know a Ja.cquelyn nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m]!e, and she’s rather frumpy, so I don’t really find [name_f]Jacquelyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Jaclyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] or [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] very appealing, until I think of [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], who, admittedly, I don’t know a ton about, but she always seemed like such a strong and beautiful feminine soul, and strikes me as almost glamorously beautiful.
If I used a nn for [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], I think I’d use [name_f]Linny[/name_f], but I’d never use it, because I hate the butchered American pronunciation, [name_m]JACK[/name_m]-quah-line. shudder I’d only use the [name_m]French[/name_m] zhahk-leen, which would be a nightmare in [name_u]America[/name_u], lol. I think [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is a really nice name, though.
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is fine but I would not use [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] as a nickname. Also, I would be sure to pair [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] with a ‘fresh’ middle name.
I definitely think [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is useable:)
