I am 18 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and deep into the naming process. I want to use the name [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] but I fear it has become trendy and lost its vintage-biblical feel. The main reason I want to use [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is because it honors my grandmother [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and my dad [name_m]John[/name_m] without being a variation of those names. So what do you think? Trendy or not?
I don’t think so. Maybe a bit but not to [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] levels. You should use it, I like how it honours two people.
I don’t feel [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is trendy. It’s a great name and with the special meaning attached, it’s all the sweeter.
No, I would not consider it trendy. I only know one who is 8yrs old. [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is a great name and I especially like how it holds special meaning to you.
I don’t know a single [name_m]Jonah[/name_m].
So lovely that it would honour two special people in your life.
Congratulations on your upcoming little one.
I’ve never met a [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], and think it definitely has a vintage-biblical feel.
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is biblical, not trendy in my book. Despite the similarity to [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (which is handsome and so completely plausible), I don’t think he’ll rise to popularity in quite the same level. I think [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is the perfect way to honor your mother and father while still guaranteeing that your son will have a name of his own.
Not trendy. A great pick!
Nope, I don’t think so. Which is strange, as I find [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]/[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]/[name_u]Noah[/name_u] trendy, I guess it just slipped through.
Not super trendy at all. I love it, and it totally works, to honour both a [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and a [name_m]John[/name_m]. You should go for it.
I know one [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] who is my age (early 20s) and one who is a year old. I don’t think it’s trendy at all! It’s Biblical, and I think most of those names tend to be more traditional.
I do think it’s a little bit trendy, but not really all that popular, if that makes sense. I don’t think its so trendy that it should be off your list.
I hope not because it’s my current favorite! I think [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is quite perfect. There is one that goes to the playroom at the YMCA with my son who is about 2-years-old and he is the only one I have ever met. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Yes, but not so much that it’s a name where there will be multiples in the kids class or a name easily associated with a popularity boom like [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] or [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
I have never come across a [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], and I don’t know anyone thinking about naming a baby this name. So I don think it is trendy at all.
I like that it honours two loved ones! What a great choice!
i like jonah
I don’t think it’s trendy at all. I don’t know any and I’ve never met any. I think it’s still rather uncommon.
I’ve only met one [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], and he’s my age. I don’t think it’s too trendy, though a bit more popular in recent decades. Maybe it’s similar sound to [name_u]Noah[/name_u] makes it seem more popular than it is? I like it.
I don’t consider [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] trendy at all. I love that it honors both [name_u]Joan[/name_u] and [name_m]John[/name_m].
