Is Lia too much of a stretch?

Lately I’ve been liking the name [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]. Would [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f] be too much of a stretch? The letters are there but I know it’s not the most intuitive nickname. What are some other nickname ideas? (Not really a fan of [name_u]Julie[/name_u]). Thank you!

I think [name_f]Lia[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] is perfectly fine. I really like that as a nn for it actually. It fits but is unexpected in a good way.

Thank you!

I think [name_f]Lia[/name_f] totally works! Like the previous poster said, it’s unexpected in a good way :). I love [name_f]Lia[/name_f] as a nickname in general, and I think it really fits the vibe of [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]!

I think it totally works.

I think it works fine.

Thank you everyone! You’ve made me feel much better about using it

I agree with everyone else. [name_f]Lia[/name_f] works just fine. =] [name_f]Liana[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f], and [name_u]Jules[/name_u] all work, too. I know a [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] who goes by [name_u]Jules[/name_u] most of the time.

Definitely not! It’s unexpected (which I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]!) but perfectly acceptable!

[name_f]Juliana[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f] totally works! [name_f]Lia[/name_f] is right in the name so it’s easy to see where it comes from, and both the “li” and “a” sounds are prominent.

Jul is one of my favorite nn options for [name_u]Julie[/name_u] names, if only because it means “[name_u]Christmas[/name_u]” in most (I think) Scandinavian languages. I think it’s a cute tie.

I also love [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], or [name_u]Jules[/name_u]. Or even [name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lili[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. But I think [name_f]Lia[/name_f] works fine, even as an unexpected choice. If you love [name_f]Lia[/name_f], go for it.
