Is Lily popular than Lillian?
Where I live I’d say both are pretty popular, probably [name_f]Lily[/name_f] more than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. They both feel fairly timeless, though, so despite being popular I don’t think they’re likely to feel “out of date” in the future— I would definitely say that for either one, no reason not to go for it if you love the name!

According to the SSA data, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is slightly more popular than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], at least in the US. I feel like, anecdotally, that is what I have experienced out in the wild too.

I’ve never actually met a [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] but I’ve met numerous Lilys

I think they’re both popular but it’s a classic case of playground analysis - a lot of Lillians will go by the nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f], making [name_f]Lily[/name_f] seem much more popular. There are also a handful of other [name_f]Lil[/name_f]- names that lead to [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
I’ve met plenty of Lilys, old and young, and it’s definitely one of the most popular names in my area! Despite that, it’s absolutely stunning and I love it anyway. I have it on my middle name list 
I think it’s popular in a timeless way. But very popular indeed!

Yes they are. But you can try names that are similar & they are just as beautiful but far less used
