We have chosen the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Demelza[/name_f] if #3 turns out to be a little girl. But we (especially me) feel like it is somehow a little matchy to the name of our older daughter, [name_f]Maya[/name_f].
They are both 4 letter, 2 syllables and contain an Y. Is this a problem or am I over-thinking it?
Yes they’re both four letters, but a LOT of names are. Furthermore the ‘y’ functions differently in the two names; in [name_f]Maya[/name_f] the ‘y’ functions like a soft ‘j’, while in [name_f]Lily[/name_f] it functions like an ‘ee’ sound. Totally different!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sound great for sisters
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sound like sisters! The “y” makes different sounds in both names. They are definitely the same style (as is [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]) but they sound like the names of sisters!
As someone else said, don’t overthink it!
I have a sister named [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and a cousin named [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and we’ve never had any problems. I think they’re both beautiful names that go together nicely. Congratulations!
