What do you think about this as a full name, not a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_m]Will[/name_m] everyone just assume it’s short of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? Also what are your thoughts on the name? Thanks! Also would love some more suggestions !
I think it could definitely work as a stand alone name, but you will get some occasional questions about it, just as women name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] occasionally get their names “corrected” to [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. If that doesn’t bother you, I think it could work. Other names along those lines:
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_f]Betty[/name_f]
[name_u]Mattie[/name_u]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
I think it can definitely stand alone! There’s definitely going to be times where someone might assume that it’s short for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] because it usually is but if you aren’t overly concerned or annoyed by that then I don’t think it should be a problem!
It depends where you are really. In the UK or Australia I can see people just accepting it as a full name, in the States and [name_f]Canada[/name_f] I do think a [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] would be asked if it’s short for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] as these sweeter nicknames aren’t very popular over there.
It’s great as a stand alone
Here in the UK I think it would work really well as a full name, its really recognisable and pretty. I’m not sure about in the US, nickname names seem to be much less common.
I don’t see it as a stand alone name. I would probably assume it’s a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I live in the US btw.
I think it’s fine as a standalone name.
Such a cool name! I know a 7 week old with the spelling ‘[name_f]Lotte[/name_f]’. Not short for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. It’s the cutest name.
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] works great as a stand-alone name in my opinion. It may get mistaken as a nickname, but it’s unique enough that I don’t think it’ll throw anyone.
