Is Lucy Jane too Boring?

Yes, still on a middle name hunt for our little [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Not necessarily hunt. We’ve got a great list of options, but just can’t decide. This week I keep going back to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

At first, I really wanted to stay away from 1 syllable middle names, but I’ve always loved the name [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. But being a “namer” or someone who LOVES names and finding great combos, I’m wondering if this is just too boring? I don’t want to regret not going for something a little more unique and unexpected later down the road.

My other favorites are…

But I can’t get DH on board with these first two yet. Not sure if I’m willing to give them up yet lol. So, currently we agree on [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u].

I like it. It’s sweet and simple.

I wish your DH would get on board with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], I love that combo so much! Second choice would be [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I don’t think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is boring necessarily, but you’ve got other options I like better.

I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is very lively and pretty and not boring. Really it’s a question of whether you personally find it too boring, which by the due date in your signature you have a couple more months to think about.

You could potentially use two middle names, i.e. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

I love it!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely. I doubt you’ll regret it! Sometimes our feelings for real live babies are a little different from when we’re playing around with names for fantasy babies or just for fun. There’s no shame in that and your job when picking the name isn’t to surprise or impress other people, it’s to find something you love and that you think will serve your child well.

But yeah you don’t have to decide anything yet. You can easily wait until you meet her and see if she seems more like a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] to you.

I adore [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Such a happy, spunky, sunny, fun, peppy, bubbly combo. Not even close to boring.

You and me both!!! I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is my favorite combo right now. So much spunk! And I love the strong meaning of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

Yes, great point! I thought about running [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] by my husband. I thought that might be sweet considering I often go by [name_u]Ali[/name_u] [name_f]Bee[/name_f] and it’s the name of my business.

Very true! I definitely want to find a combo that will fit her and her personality. At the moment, I feel like she’s super sassy. She kicked the fetal doppler away at our last appointment lol!

I’m super impatient so I’m trying to wait until a name just feels right or even until we see her, but I don’t want her first name getting out without it having a middle and I’m 99% sure my [name_f]MIL[/name_f] won’t be able to keep her mouth shut at the baby shower in [name_u]June[/name_u]. So, I hope to have something picked by then.

Yay! [name_u]Love[/name_u] that you get that vibe from this name. That’s exactly what I’m going for!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is delightful. Not boring at all - refreshing and lively in fact.

Boring? Not at all. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely. Not only that, but both names are classics you really can’t go wrong with. In fact, I vastly prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] over [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u].

Sorry to be the first negative reply-
I do find it boring
No, that doesn’t mean its ugly, because it’s not
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is popular and I’ve met several people with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as their middle name, so this just doesnt seem interesting to me
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] ___ [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] would be much better choices in my opinion

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] isn’t earth-shatteringly distinctive, but it’s timeless and classic, its beauty doesn’t come from being “interesting” [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. It feels sweet, cheerful and friendly. It’s a name people will be finding pretty 50 years from now even if/when names like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] go out of style. There are so many great historical/literary/etc. associations for both [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I do love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] though, they have a history of use and lots of positive associations too, and the combos feel so elegant and sophisticated.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is wonderful!

Offense not taken. I appreciate your honesty! What do you think of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?
