I think this is a lovely name. It’s soft and sweet and elegant sounding. Princessy, which I like. I love the nickname Lumi and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] works so naturally. I know a woman named Luminitsa, so this should definitely work.

And just in case you need other names I’m going to try to give you a bunch you maybe haven’t considered already:

Alula – as delicate and light as a feather
Aluna – descent
Callula – light
Calluna – resembling heather
Calumina – dove
Eluned – likeness
Flutura – butterfly
Halulu – to roar
Liluye – chicken hawk singing while soaring
Luana – joyous, happy
Lucasta – chaste light
Lucetta – bright, born at daybreak
Lucina – she who brings children to light
Ludwina – people, friend
Lunette – moon
Lunshea – moon fairy – loon-shay
Lulania – the highest point in heaven
Luminita – little light
Lutana – moon
Maluna – one who rises above
Melusine – hard worker
Pelulio – treasure from the sea
Piluki – resembling a small leaf
Talula – leaping water – it’s Choctaw

I think it’s usable. I prefer [name_f]Lumina[/name_f], simply because it is closer to my style and not quite so frilly. As well as the adorable nn [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], you can also get [name_f]Mina[/name_f], [name_u]Min[/name_u] or [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], which I like.

I think it’s usable. I prefer it to [name_f]Lumina[/name_f] because unfortunately with [name_f]Lumina[/name_f] I think of a couple models of sedan.

It is very Spanish-feeling but that’s not a problem. It feels more usable to me than [name_f]Iluminada[/name_f] which I’ve heard and like but am not brave enough to use.

WARNING: I think it is usable. But you should know my style when I say that. I like [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucasta[/name_f], and [name_f]Leocadia[/name_f] (<—5 syllables!), so obviously neither Spanish nor luscious and elaborate put me off at all. I wouldn’t call Luminosa “tailored” iykwim.

BTW I think Lucasta (“pure light”) would be a striking choice for Lulu. I’m assuming you’ve thought of Luna and Lucinda/Lucilla (which I like too) already, but Lucasta often gets lost in the shuffle. Luella is a bit more “country” but kind of adorably vintage-ragdoll cute to me.

Hello! As one of the suggesters of the name, I found it suitable. It’s definitely a bit out there, but in an age where [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is gaining popularity, why not? As long as it’s not Leviosa, I think you’re fine.

@dantea Thank you for all your descriptions and compliments  I like Princessy names as well. Also, I appreciate all the new descriptions and meanings. I love quite a few of them and I’ll take a while to feel out the names before I narrow them down as alot of them are my style.

@imogeneve I’m glad to hear you think the name is usable and I appreciate the nickname suggestions.

@stripedsocks I think [name_f]Lucasta[/name_f] is lovely and you’re right it did get lost in the shuffle. I thought of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and figured if that is usable then hopefully this should be as well. I also thought of [name_f]Luella[/name_f] but it feels like a “safer” option. Thanks for all the constructive feedback

@bibliophile Thank you soooo much for the suggestion, as you can obviously see I like it very much. [name_f]Luminosa[/name_f] reminds me alot of Leviosa which sort of irks me, but ahhh well, I still love it.
