I like the name [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], but wonder if it’s too dated. What are your thoughts?
Also, if you think it can work, what middle name do you see? Or at least what style?

I don’t think it is too dated. I think you could pair it nicely with a more “modern” middle name and it would be great.
NOOOOOOO Not at all! I love [name_f]Melinda[/name_f]! It’s a really versatile name. It’s familiar without being way too common. And I can picture it on almost any person of any age.

It is dated for me. [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] feels fresher.
Not really. I love it. It kinda gives an 80’s-90’s kinda vibe.
With all the [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]'s, and [name_f]Melody[/name_f]'s, and [name_f]Melissa[/name_f]'s, and [name_f]Rosalinda[/name_f]'s running around, it fits right into today!
Also the nicknames - [name_u]Mel[/name_u]/[name_f]Melly[/name_f], [name_f]Lindie[/name_f]/[name_f]Linda[/name_f].
It could work on anyone (it doesn’t age poorly like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].)
It’s not too popular at all. I’ve yet to meet a [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] in person.
I think we’ve just discovered everything a name should be!
(BONUS if it’s a family name)
And… Literary touch ;
The main character in the YA classic SPEAK is named [name_f]Melinda[/name_f]!
Musical reference ; Just like Tom Thumbs Blues song by Bob Dylan. (He speaks of a Melinda in the song)
There’s a bunch of actresses and singers with this name.
Variations include; Malinda, Milinda
It actually started out as an invented name from Belinda, Florinda.
There ya go!

I don’t think it’s too dated. Unexpected, but it doesn’t feel very tied to any particular time or era to me, and I think it’s very pretty.

I love [name_f]Melinda[/name_f]. I’ve actually been considering adding [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] to my short list although I’d probably never use it as [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] is one of my top 2 names and they’re too similar. Both [name_u]Mel[/name_u] and [name_f]Linda[/name_f] are nice nicknames too.
