I’ve wanted to use the name [name]Memphis[/name] since I watched a movie with [name]Nicholas[/name] cages character having the name [name]Memphis[/name]. I’ve also always loved the name [name]Tennessee[/name] but I happen to live in a suburb outside of [name]Memphis[/name], tn. Does that make the name [name]Memphis[/name] unusable seeing as the baby will be from an area closely located to [name]Memphis[/name]?
[name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon just named her son [name]Tennessee[/name] but I think it might be weird if you actually lived there. Then again I do know more than one [name]Hudson[/name] that lives in NY and a [name]Brooklyn[/name] from [name]Brooklyn[/name]. I think it depends on how much it bothers you.
I think since you live just outside of [name]Memphis[/name], TN both [name]Memphis[/name] and [name]Tennessee[/name] are probably slightly awkward choices for your child.
That was the problem I ran into with the name [name]Georgia[/name], one day I’d like to move back to my home state and I question whether or not having a kid with the name of the state I’d be living in is a good idea. lol
I do not think [name]Memphis[/name] is unusable though, it can work. I have nieces and nephews named after cities in [name]Florida[/name] where they live. I guess it depends on how much it might bother you or your kid having the name of a nearby city.
I wouldn’t do it.
I have a family member named [name]Memphis[/name]. I thought it was pretty weird at first, but it’s definitely grown on me. And it suits him quite well. I believe the parents picked the name because they loved the city, and dad is a big blues fan. Honestly, I applaud their (and possibly your) originality by choosing [name]Memphis[/name] instead of another dreadful [name]Ayden[/name]/[name]Cayden[/name]/[name]Jayden[/name]/[name]Hayden[/name].
An original choice without being over the top, [name]IMO[/name]. Definitely usable!
I think it is! My husband and I thought about the name combo [name]Memphis[/name] [name]Cruz[/name]. I think it is a nice name
It’s a cool name, but not if you live in [name]Memphis[/name]. Your poor child would turn around every time the news was on.
