I love the name [name_f]Merida[/name_f]. So sweet and strong at the same time. But is it usable or forever a GP? Thanks!

Well, people use [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], and [name_f]Belle[/name_f], so why would it be unusable? 
I know! They get buried (haha). I think the movie [name_f]Merida[/name_f] makes it more accessible but also more tied to the movie as well, because most people would not have heard the name before Pixar’s [name_f]Merida[/name_f]. I think it is a nice name with a pretty sound and if you love it, you should go for it. I like the princess it is associated with, but if that association bothers you, I wouldn’t use it.
This reminds me of the [name_u]Berry[/name_u] Juice blog from a day or two ago by [name_u]Abby[/name_u] Sandel about the princess name effect.
If you love [name_f]Merida[/name_f], use it. But I prefer it as a guilty pleasure. People will always associate with Brave.

If you want to use it, go for it! I think it’s a lovely name and of all the princesses to be named after, [name_f]Merida[/name_f] would probably be my personal favorite. Strong, spunky, and that don’t-need-no-man attitude. Sigh, I love [name_f]Merida[/name_f].
I would use it myself but I don’t think I’m brave enough (hee!). Plus I am slightly obsessed with Disney, so… I know my family would just make fun of me!
I think it’s usable. It’s not terribly weird or anything and [name_f]Merida[/name_f] from Brave is one of my favorite Disney girls. She’s a great princess role model.
And by the time you’re old enough to have kids, it probably won’t matter anyway
