My initial thought would be it is a boy’s name but I could see it as a girl’s name. When I named my daughter Eisley (eyes-lee), I 100% thought it was a girl’s name but after looking on nameberry I see they have it listed as a boy’s name too. I’m guessing nowadays any name could be either.

I put both because [name_f]Miko[/name_f] is a (Japanese) girls’ name, and I think it’s pronounced the same as [name_u]Mikko[/name_u]. I really like [name_u]Mikko[/name_u] for a boy (and [name_f]Miko[/name_f] for a girl, too)!
It probably depends where you live, but for me I’d see [name_u]Mikko[/name_u] on the same level as [name_u]Nico[/name_u]—i would expect a boy, but wouldn’t be super surprised if it was a girl. I think it’s a really cool name, particularly if you have Finnish heritage. I say use it for your son!
I initially thought boy as well. Like others are saying, it could work for both. [name_u]Mikko[/name_u] is a cute name!
