Is Milo super popular?

I think this name is so cute but I wonder if he’d be one of five [name_m]Milos[/name_m] in his class…
I feel the same about [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. :frowning:

I’m not sure where you live, but in the US both [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] are ranked between 275-210 in terms of popularity, which I wouldn’t say is too much. In the UK neither made it into the top 100. I can’t say for anywhere else though, sorry.

I don’t think either name has soared in popularity so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I’ve never met a [name_m]Milo[/name_m], so I wouldn’t worry about that one unless it’s super popular where you are. I’ve only met one [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], and it’s supposedly more popular in my state.

According to the Social Security website, there were 1,271 baby boys born named [name_m]Milo[/name_m] in the entire US in 2015, which means about 25 per state. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is a little more popular at about 36 per state. Not sure where you are but 5 in a whole state is not going to translate to 5 per class, so if you are in the US you are probably good.

Compare that to my name in my year of birth and there were almost 17,000 of us born in the US. [name_m]Even[/name_m] so, I never had a single class with another [name_f]Amber[/name_f] in all of my years of school & university. I think there was one other [name_f]Amber[/name_f] in my graduating class of 550 people. So I wouldn’t worry about it, unless you know it is very specifically popular in the area where you live. Like if you personally know multiple people who has used this name.
