Is Morgan usable on a boy?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you visualize [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]? If you were meeting a [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for the first time and did not know their gender would you anticipate a boy or a girl? What is your overall impression of the name?

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]- It’s truly boys name, but I’ve meant so many girls, it’s wired into my mind that if I meet a [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], I would assume a girl. But it would be refreshing on a boy though.

If you wanted to use female version of the name use [name_f]Morgana[/name_f].

I think it’s completely unisex, so I wouldn’t anticipate any gender, though I think it works great on both. Great name!

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is my #1 boys name, I’d use it in a heartbeat. I think it is quite dated on a girl but very fresh on a boy. Honestly, when I meet a girl named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I think “oh your parents gave you a boy name”

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is so rugged, charming, handsome, and strong. There is nothing feminine about it in my opinion.

I agree with pp that it seems dated on a girl. If I heard the name [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], I would assume it’s a boy. If I knew the parents and they were “tryndee” folks, I might think it was a girl, but not knowing anything about the kid or the parents, I’d assume it’s a boy.

I have met both a boy and a girl with this name. This is the only unisex name I like on both genders!! It’s a strong masculine name on a boy, but also is a strong feminine name on a girl. If I was going to meet a [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for the first time and did not know the gender I would have no idea if is be meeting a boy or a girl. [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_f]Ashely[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f] i expect a girl. [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]Lane[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] I’d expect a boy. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] works so nicely for both!! If I didn’t know the two that I do I’d consider using it definitely!!

I love [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for a boy. So handsome. I wouldn’t be sure though before meeting one. I think boy first, but I’ve actually only known one girl [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] personally.

I see it as [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is all boy, [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] is all girl. I’d expect a [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] to be a boy, as I mostly link the name to [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m], and the only female [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I’ve heard of was a little girl on my bus. I like [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], but not as much as I love [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] for a girl.

I’ve known both boys and girls named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] so upon hearing it I don’t assume one gender of the other, I wait until I know for sure. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is truly a unisex name.

I automatically think girl. That being said, I think it would be refreshing to hear it on a boy since it is actually a boys name. Then my mind goes to [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m].

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is a masculine name, so I assume boy when I hear it used. I do think it has been more popular on girls but with [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I lean more towards ‘Boys name used on girls’ than ‘Unisex name’. I agree with the others who said it’d be refreshing to see it on a boy.

Although every [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I have personally met was female, I still think boy when I hear the name. It seems so handsome and rugged and fresh on a boy, like seafoam crashing against rocky Irish cliffs shrouded in mist. I say go for it!

Exactly.

Boy - I haven’t met anyone named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], but my Mum’s work friend has a grandson called [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]. Apparently, he is very handsome, charming and a real ladies man and troublemaker! He has a twin sister called [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. So, that’s what I think of when I hear [name_u]Morgan[/name_u].

I never quite understood [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] as a girls name, so boy for me as well, it’s most certainly usable!
I think of [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] from Criminal Minds, almost exclusively called [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] (and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]).

All boy! I’ve never met or known a female [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], they have all been boys. It’s a very handsome name, strong and I would only use it for a boy. I also love the [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] for a girl.

I think of [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]. I like [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for a boy and [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] for a girl.

I’ve never met anyone named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], so I don’t know what I’d anticipate. However, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m], he’s pretty much the coolest person to ever live, so I’d probably would automatically think male because of him, haha.

I’ve only ever met male Morgans so I definitely think of it as male, I always thought [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for girls was just a passing trend.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is ALL boy. Horrible on girls.
