is my sweet second an Esmeralda, Emerald, or Penelope ?

This is my second daughter, and she was a mystery baby, as in we wanted to be surprised! My first daughter’s name is [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]. This baby is fresh out and was born two days ago. She is a very calm baby. Dark curly hair, a little darker complexion (she has alot of Deleware [name_f]Indian[/name_f] in her). I predict she will either have dark brown (like dads) or greenish hazel eyes (like mine).
Now here is our predicament. My husband and I are torn on a name (of course, eye roll).
I want [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f], or [name_f]Emerald[/name_f]; he wants [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Zella[/name_f]. I am alright with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Zella[/name_f], it’s a cute name and I can imagine it on one of my potential daughters ([name_f]Zella[/name_f] is a family name and is optional), but I am in love with [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] and have loved the name for ages. [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] green is my favorite color and reminds me of the deep green mystery of the forest. This is my summer/autumn baby, and emerald greens are all I’ve been thinking about while pregnant. Plus the nick name options for [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] are to die for: [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_f]Imelda[/name_f], [name_f]Emerald[/name_f].
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is cute. My husband is obsessed with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nickname [name_u]Penny[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] so much though. I’m thinking [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f].

So what do you all think ? Does she look like an [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]/[name_f]Emerald[/name_f], or a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ? What about [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as a compromise ? I was thinking [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. Any middle name advice?

UPDATE ok heres where we’re at. i hate the combination Esmeralda Penelope, it doesn’t flow well at all imo, but we are compromising, and i don’t want him to feel pushed out bc he already sort of does

so i need everyone’s help. is there a third middle i can introduce to make this all flow better bc Esmeralda Penelope is overkill. i need something to bring back the balance and tie it in better. i really wanted Esmeralda Isobel, but alas.

anything to resolve this?

Congratulations, she is beautiful! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]. I would use it myself, but it doesn’t work with our last name. I don’t like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is such a pretty name.

[name_f]Emerald[/name_f] and [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] make such a beautiful sibset! If it were me I would probably go with [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], but [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are lovely choices, too. Congratulations!

Congratulations on your little girl! [name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] sounds beautiful. I think you could use the nickname [name_f]Zella[/name_f] for [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] - could that help to sell your husband on the name?

I would say go with [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I love that [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] means “weaver” as well.

Oh what a beautiful baby, @magicschoolbus117 – warmest congratulations!

My top suggestion for you:

[name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] {and} [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

{exotic flower / gemstone first names}

I like [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] the best. What about [name_f]Violet[/name_f]? I think she kind of looks like a [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Zella[/name_f] Maybe?

Seconding [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Zella[/name_f]! That’s fantastic. [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]? It’s long, but not much longer than [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].

I’d say [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Then your husband could still use the nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u] and you could have [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]. She’s gorgeous!

She 100% looks like an [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] to me, though I like both names.

They are all lovely, but I think [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] goes best

I love the name [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]! If [name_f]Zella[/name_f] is a family name I think you could use it as a nickname for [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]. I really like both your combos but if your husband really likes [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] then I think you should use that as a middle. Congrats on your daughter and I hope you find a great name that you both love.

Awwh, she’s so cute! Congratulations!

I really like [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] and [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], and I think both names suits her! [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] in particular is a perfect fit with [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f]. But [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] is such a beautiful, whimsical name, and I agree with previous posters that [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] gives eveything you and your husband want. So my answer is [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]!

I prefer [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].

[name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! Beautiful name for a beautiful daughter, and then your husband can say he chose her mn and nn her [name_u]Penny[/name_u] if he still wants.
Congrats!

[name_f]Emerald[/name_f] is gorgeous, and perfect with your first’s name.

I think [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is perfect for the beautiful little one you described.

Congratulations!

I was going to suggest [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too. He could probably still get away with nicknaming her [name_u]Penny[/name_u].

I like [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], I wouldn’t use [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as the middle in case you want to use it in the future. They’re all beautiful names though. [name_m]Just[/name_m] the dark hair/complexion sounds like an [name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] or [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] to me. Good luck!

I love [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
