Is Paloma really usable?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,

Pregnant with #3 and we won’t find out for some time whether it’s a boy or girl. Our two boys are [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Alejandro[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. For girls, my top choices at the moment are [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. I have my reservations with all three, but my question here is about [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. I love that she means dove, because I would love to have a name symbolizing peace and there really aren’t that many to choose from. My husband is Colombian and so being in Spanish is great (though not a necessity). The problem is that it just feels a bit unnatural to me when I say it out loud and I wonder if it is actually usable as a name here in the states in a largely English speaking community. What are your impressions of the name? Thank you!

I come from a country that’s even less Spanish and more-English speaking, and as it wouldn’t clash with the surname, I think it’s lovely, very elegant.

I think [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is beautiful and very usable! I think it’s easily pronounced by the English tongue. I think it flows well with [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] - not sure it goes as well with [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] as the other two, but wouldn’t let that stop me.

ooh what a lovely name! i might just be tempted to steal it hehe

Absolutely usable! [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is a gorgeous name - definitely my favourite of your options (though I love [name_f]Luna[/name_f] too!)

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]'s on my list, it would honor my grandma [name_f]Pamela[/name_f]. I love the meaning as well! Go for it

I think it’s beautiful

It’s gorgeous!
