Well we know this baby’s first name is [name]Pearl[/name], but we keep changing our minds about her middle name! And I have 8 weeks left to stew over it! Thoughts on [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name]? [name]Agnes[/name] was my husband’s grandmother—she was such a sweet little Norwegian lady, and [name]Agnes[/name] is starting to grow on me. But combined with [name]Pearl[/name], does it give off too much of a nursing home vibe?
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] is beautiful. Go for it, absolutely.
It does have a strong old-lady vibe to me, sorry. Much as I love [name]Agnes[/name] (and [name]Pearl[/name]!) individually, and even like [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] as a combo, the other way around, it does feel very old-lady like to me. Have you considered a variant of [name]Agnes[/name], like [name]Agnessa[/name] or [name]Agatha[/name] or [name]Agathe[/name], or maybe even something that has a similar meaning (like [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Kaia[/name]?).
Good luck!
It sort of does sound old, but it has special meaning, so I’d go with it.
It doesn’t seem too old lady to me, but I would say the flow is off.
It is very “old lady” but that’s a style I like quite a bit, so I’m not bothered by it
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] is wonderful! It is definitely one of those “old lady” names, but that seems to be more in vogue lately. I like it.
too old lady for me sorry. I think [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Agnes[/name] needs something modern with it.
I think [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] works, love the meaning behind it
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] is lovely! Although it does have a definite vintage feel (which [name]IMO[/name], is a really good thing), since it has a special meaning to you I would say go for it!
I like [name]Pearl[/name] but it is getting super trendy. I only like [name]Agnes[/name] if it is a family name.
I think it sounds a bit old lady-ish, but I don’t think that is a bad thing! I like it, and I think it is fashion-forward
It’s old-ladyish, but I think it’s great!
I love the vibe of [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name]. It can be thought as fresh and unique, or vintage, and I like that. Personally, I love taking old names and reviving them, especially if they honor a family member. To me, [name]Pearl[/name] is fresh and invigorating, and [name]Agnes[/name] is chic and vintage; every good pairing! Some names are almost made to be paired together, like [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Agnes[/name].
[name]Do[/name] make sure the initials with her last name don’t spell out anything silly, though!
It does have a vintage feel to it, which is something I quite like. I would go for it, especially as it has special meaning to you.
I love it! I don’t think you will ever regret giving your daughter a name that has deep meaning to you. I also think it works wither way:
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Agnes[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] (I think nn [name]Aggie[/name] is super cute)
Good luck
I love [name]Pearl[/name]! [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] is beautiful.
Thanks everyone! I also like [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], nn [name]Aggie[/name]-but my son is named [name]August[/name] and we call him Auggie. So Auggie and [name]Aggie[/name] are probably a little too close alike.
Perhaps a second middle name that’s more modern in the middle? [name]Pearl[/name] ___ [name]Agnes[/name]? The flow of [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] seems off to me, but I guess it depends on your last name.
The first thing I thought of was [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] which seems to correct the flow
YES! Sorry, yes…way too old lady…
