Some of my favorite names are chart-toppers! Popularity doesn’t bother me. There are pros and cons for both popular and unusual names. I think it’s more about your personal feelings than the popularity itself; if you feel like a name has been overdone, or you have an overpowering association, that’s more important than the actual popularity. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking popularity into consideration, but the ultimate goal is to choose a name that you love that suits your child and your family.
