Is Prunella ''silly''?

Cutting entirely to the chase, do you find [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] unusable and a bit archaic for an actual child?

In my mind it’s just so pretty and old-timey with a wintery-warm feel, like little tartan dresses and the smell of mulled wine. But part of me also thinks it’s ridiculous, and the classist in me would snigger at how frivolously posh it was if I ever met one.

What do you think? Too ‘much’?

I’d also love to know if you consider the following more/less/equally usable as [name_f]Prunella[/name_f]; [name_f]Perdita[/name_f], [name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. Thank you!

To be honest, when I saw [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] the first thing I thought of was shriveled prunes. I much prefer the sound of [name_u]Vale[/name_u] & [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

[name_f]Prunella[/name_f] intrigues me; there’s something about her that causes me to stop and take notice time and again.

Both suffix and prefix “[name_f]Pru[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Nella[/name_f]” are completely wearable.

The only thing that makes her questionable to some is the word “prune” in her name.

Something I personally find adorable :).

I think [name_f]Perdita[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u], and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are significantly more usable than [name_f]Prunella[/name_f].

I wouldn’t say it’s not usable, but it’s a very snobbish name. It reminds me of prunes and citronella.

[name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are marginally more usable than [name_f]Prunella[/name_f], although I have a strong hatred for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

To me the name [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] is unusable… My aunt (whom I’m very close to) always used this term if we were being bratty or difficult when we were younger. She would always call us ‘[name_f]Prunella[/name_f]’ or ‘[name_f]Prunella[/name_f] Twit’ at those times. So I just can’t disassociate it from that. I feel if someone else used it, I would manage to get used to it though.

However, I think [name_f]Perdita[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Fenella[/name_f] are all quite usable and charming!

I like it! But I prefer [name_f]Prunelle[/name_f] or Brunelle or [name_f]Bruna[/name_f].
I know a girl named [name_f]Prunelle[/name_f].

Eh. Not entirely unusable, but I do definitely get a stuffy/shriveled vibe from it, to be honest. I like [name_f]Fenella[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] a lot, and [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] are NMS but usable, in my opinion.

I like the name. I would never use it, but I find it so “British.” I also really like [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and [name_f]Fenella[/name_f].

I wouldn’t use a name that evokes images of constipation and poop.

I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]!
