My husband and I are trying to figure out names. I want something classic but unique (think [name_m]Walt[/name_m]…which I love and he hates), but he wants something “normal”. We both like [name_u]Reid[/name_u].
I haven’t been around a lot of babies lately, but my husband and i both grew up being one of the 3 "[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]"s or "[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]"s in the class. We don’t want our kid being one of three or so in class.
That being said, people around kids a lot, is [name_u]Reid[/name_u] a popular name for 2014/2015 babies?
It’s not going to be that popular. It’s a good name. Fresh and modern without being overly weird.
Sure there’s a chance he’ll know another one. Sure there’s a small chance he might even have a class with one, but the same could happen if you named him [name_m]Hezekiah[/name_m]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t freak out, [name_u]Reid[/name_u] isn’t gonna be [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] or [name_m]Daniel[/name_m].
I’m a SAHM of a two year old and before that I worked with school age kids for about five years and I’ve never run into a child named [name_u]Reid[/name_u]/[name_u]Reed[/name_u] (Come to think of it, I’ve never run into an adult with the name either). The only association I have with the name is Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four ([name_u]Reed[/name_u] [name_m]Richards[/name_m]). It’s one of those names that’s familiar but not common.
