I’ve been going back and forth with this old love of mine… I have fear however that [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] is a bit too much for a little boy, though I see no harm in the usual referencing [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] when teasing or pointing out romantic intentions/endeavors.
I also have found it hard to find middle names that are traditional and classical that sound and flow well with [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]. Suggestions are very much welcomed!
Funny! I was literally just thinking about this name this morning! It’s a very nice name! If you aren’t sure about it in the front spot, how about the middle name instead? The name I was debating was [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_u]Jace[/name_u]/[name_u]Jace[/name_u] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
Anyway, here’s some suggestions:
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Adam[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Erik[/name_m] (you said traditional which I took to mean Anglo but I noticed several Nordic names on your signature so I thought it might work)
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Emil[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]
With it in the middle spot:
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Alfred[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
Yes, [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] absolutely is too much. I say this as someone whose first name is [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] I have been teased with [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] jokes my entire life and I’m sure it would be much, much worse for a boy named [name_m]Romeo[/name_m].
[name_m]David[/name_m] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] have a son named [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]. Personally I think the teasing potential is high though, at least in the UK since it’s an unusual name here and the association with the play is strong.
Some middle name suggestions:
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m]
I knew a child named [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], and he was absolutely adorable. No one ever said anything about his name, and he wore it really well. It was not too much at all. It actually made me almost start to like the name (I love the sound, just hate the play/character).
I am familiar enough with other people called [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] that, although it is pretty much all I think of (R and J), I don’t see the need to bring it up. Those who named him are all too aware of the connection.
I love [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], but I think I love who most famously wore [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] more than the name itself (yes, I’m looking at you, [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] DiCaprio).
I think you can use it, it’s romantic and all lovely and sweet, but know for sure you’ll get comments a LOT.
I think it may be too much. [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] may be able to afford that for their kid but for the rest of us, mere mortals, I think the potencial teasing it’s too much. I mean, if Juliets get jokes, it’s going to be far, far worse for [name_m]Romeo[/name_m].
However I don’t think it’s terrible. I have seen much worse in these forums. But you may want to consider how much potential teasing you’ll want to avoid. Maybe it’s a safer choice as a middle. You could get to still call him [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], but he could go by his first name in school, job, etc…
Unfortunately we won’t be having a [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] because partner is adamantly against the name. Thank you anyway for the comments and feedback, berries!
