Is Rosalie usable?

I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Rosalie[/name], especially with the nicknames [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name]. However, I’m afraid of poeple assuming that we picked it because of Twilight. That is where I heard about it first, but it’s NOT why I want to use it. If I wanted to name my child after fictional characters, I think I could do better.

So my question is, when you hear [name]Rosalie[/name] do you automatically think of Twilight? Or would that mostly be an afterthought?

I too love the name [name]Rosalie[/name], it’s classic, romantic, and girly without being over the top! I think that people would just think of Twilight as an afterthought, it’s not like you are trying to name a girl [name]Bella[/name].

The last movie for Twilight is out – I doubt anyone will think even remember the character’s names in a few years.

I love it as well. Very sweet and feminine. Never read or seen Twilight so I don’t have a connection with it. Also, the movie will be forgotten in a few years and your dd will have her name for life.
I say go for it.

I agree. Definitely absolutely usable. And on my list! As is [name]Rosalia[/name], which I also love!

I think it is usable. The only Twilight name that I consider unusable is [name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Bella[/name].

I couldn’t figure out why [name]Rosalie[/name] wouldn’t be usable until I read your post. The connection didn’t immediately occur to me, even though I read the books. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of the series, but I think it’s popularity won’t last much longer. Besides, I think [name]Rosalie[/name] is sort of a minor character, right? I think that in a year or two people are only going to remember the main characters names. Also, [name]Rosalie[/name] was around long before Twilight.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] etc. it’s a classic. No I don’t think of twilight first but who cares if someone does. If you like the name use it!

I don’t think of twilight at all. [name]Esme[/name] is the only name that gives me Twilight vibes, maybe [name]Bella[/name] as well but not as much. I think [name]Rosalie[/name] is a gorgeous and definitely usable name

Yes, it’s gorgeous! The only way a name could be too Twilight to me would be to name your kids [name]Bella[/name] and [name]Edward[/name].

all of my thoughts exactly. I love rosalie!

I adore [name]Rosalie[/name] one of my all time favourites! And I agree with uselesskitty the only name unusable now in twilight is [name]Bella[/name].

Thanks, everyone! Your replies were really helpful. It’s nice to know that people’s minds don’t immediately go to Twilight. [name]Rosalie[/name] is definitely up there on our list!

The only people who would recognize [name]Rosalie[/name] from Twilight would be overly obsessed crazy teenage fangirls and their mothers.

I love [name]Rosalie[/name]! I would not think Twilight automatically! [name]Love[/name] it!!!

I didn’t even know [name]Rosalie[/name] was a character in Twilight–haven’t read them, but I am aware of the main characters. I love the name. My toddler daughter [name]Juno[/name] has a little friend named [name]Rosalie[/name], and it’s perfect. Use it!

I adore [name]Rosalie[/name]. It’s definitely useable. No one will remember Twilight in five years from now. The only name that gives me twilight vibes is [name]Bella[/name].

i didn’t automatically think of twilight, but i prefer rosalyn

I’m kind of over this Twilight hate crap. Seriously. [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Isabella[/name] and all “Twilight” names have been well-established names for centuries, so to let one (fading) fad book/movie series “ruin” a well-established name is silly.
