Is Roslyn a tomboy name?

Pronounced Rawz-lin, not [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
What do you think of when you hear the name [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f]?
Thank you! ”

I have a personal association with name and, to me, it comes across as very tomboyish.
However, she is one of the most kind & supportive people I know

No, quite the opposite for me. I find the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names quite feminine and gentle. In Australia ‘[name_f]Roz[/name_f]/[name_f]Ros[/name_f]’ short for [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is a very common name for women in their 60s.

I agree with araminty; feminine, but very dated.

I still see the [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- suffix and therefore it feels very feminine to me

It feels rather feminine to me

It makes me think of an older lady! I do think it sounds more masculine than other [name_f]Ros[/name_f]- names as the [name_m]Ross[/name_m] part is so prominent.

Thank you to everyone who has responded! It’s great getting a slice of your opinion and is now food for thought for me. I appreciate it!

I have a family member called [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f], I think of a 50 year old woman when I hear the name. Probably wouldn’t cross my mind about sounding tomboyish

Thank you everyone for your input! I’m now closing this thread.
