I love the name [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]/[name_u]Sam[/name_u], but wonder if it’s just too boring/common? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you hear this name a lot ? I personally don’t know any new baby boys with this name. Thanks for your input!
I don’t think this name is boring; I think it’s classic. Go for it!
No! I feel like I don’t hear [name_u]Sam[/name_u] enough!
I grew up with a lot of Samuels nn [name_u]Sam[/name_u], so it does feel a little overused to me, sorry.
I actually know a lot of Samuels, but no, I don’t think it’s boring. It’s a classic.
It’s a sentimental favorite for me-- my brother’s name-- I think it’s classic but not as popular as it once was.
I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is a great name, though popularity never really bothers me.
I agree–I don’t see it as popular or boring–I see it as classic! I love it. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]'s on my own top 5. I have been crushing on [name_m]Samson[/name_m] lately, but I can’t see it taking over my beloved [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I have only met one [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] in real life that I remember, and he would probably be about 25 now.
I know a few Samuels and by that I mean…maybe two? Both in their early 20s. I think it’s a classic! It’s not boring at all. Sometimes, people get a bit silly with these mystical combinations that would sound fine in a Disney movie or [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars, but are a bit much for a flesh-and-blood little child. I personally think that names such as [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]John[/name_m], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] refreshing!
Nope. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is a great boys name.
It does feel a little standard to me, like I wouldn’t be excited to meet a baby named [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a good name, it’s just not the most thrilling name.
I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is a tad boring, but strong and solid! I grew up with a [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “[name_u]Sam[/name_u]” and really preferred when he was called by his full name [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
I hear it a lot, but I still adore the name! I know several [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]/[name_u]Sam[/name_u]'s, but I would still use the name given the chance. It’s a popular name for a reason
Not at all! I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is a nice-sounding classic with a long history, and would be refreshing on a baby.
That’s me, too. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it; it’s just not one I find all that personally exciting. For me it lands in the [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] / [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] / [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] / [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] / [name_m]Brad[/name_m] camp; I’ve run across a lot of them, so they don’t really catch the ear. But if it’s what you love, by all means, go for it. It’s a perfectly nice name.
[name_u]Sam[/name_u] on its own does seem very plain, but I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is traditional. Nms, but definitely not boring
