Is Tessa to similar to Elsa?

We are expecting our 4th baby. We already have [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] and [name_m]Otis[/name_m].

If it’s a girl, we both like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], but I worry it’s too similar to [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. What do you think? Any other suggestions? (I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but hubby not keen).

I think it could be an issue functionally since [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] both end in -sa. So it might get confusing when you’re calling for one daughter and get a response from the other?

That said, it’s certainly not a dire similarity. My conclusion is if [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is the name you really really love most then it’s worth any minor hassle the similar sounds may cause.

They do share sounds but i think they could work together

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Your kids have great names! I do think that [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is quite similar to [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. I don’t think that [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is necessarily too close though. What do you think of just [name_f]Tess[/name_f]?

Other suggestions:

[name_f]Audra[/name_f]

[name_f]Ada[/name_f]

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]

[name_f]Briar[/name_f]

[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]-one of my all time favorites, & fits in great w/your crew.

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]

[name_u]June[/name_u]

[name_f]Lila[/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f]

[name_f]Olive[/name_f]

[name_f]Polly[/name_f]

[name_f]Thea[/name_f]

[name_u]Vida[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I agree might get confusing calling them but they’re not drastically similar.
I also agree [name_f]Tess[/name_f] would be a good alternative or [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]

I think the -sa endings do make the names sound quite similar. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you always call your daughter [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]? If she is sometimes called [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] then I don’t think an [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and a [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] would be too similar. I agree with the above posters that just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] would eliminate the problem.

Others you might like:

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]/[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]

I don’t feel they are to similar at all, however you could use [name_f]Tess[/name_f] instead? A similar names to [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].

They work fine together  if it were [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Tesla[/name_f] there may be an issue.

Thank you all for the honest feedback - I think it’s probably too similar…

Unfortunately, I think they are too similar for sisters. [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] would give you a great solution!
