Considering [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] as a middle name if my next one is a boy. My daughter’s middle name is [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Is the “rose” in [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] too cutesy with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?
Definitely not too cutesy. I wouldn’t even find it too cutesy if you were to use [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] as the first name. I’m not opposed to sibling names with themes in the first place (I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be cute) but I don’t think a whole lot of people would find [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] to be cutesy/matching.
Personally when I hear [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] I think of a strong, smart man with a lot of character. I think it sounds lovely with [name_f]Violet[/name_f], which is also a strong but sweet name to me.
I think it’s fine. [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] sound more vintage than flowery to me.
I would not have even noticed. I also don’t think it’s a problem if middle names seem to match since they are so rarely used.
I definitely don’t think it is a problem! If anything, I think the subtle flower names in the middle spot would be a sweet way to connect your children’s names without being too obvious.
It’s fine! Not cutesy at all
It’s not cutesy at all. [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] sounds really masculine and professional to me. They match quite nicely.
I wouldn’t have noticed, and still wouldn’t care. Both names sound great together.
I didn’t make the connection at all, I think it’s a great choice!
No, I dont think so. While I personally feel awkward about trends for first names (same letter, all floral, all animals, rhyming), I dont think it causes problems for middle name. Sisters with floral middle names would be cute without being too cringy.
That aside, [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] does not make me think of [name_f]Rose[/name_f]'s at all. I wasnt sure what the similarity with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] was, other than both being vintage names. They sound great together
I think you might be overthinking this one. [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] might have the word “rose” in there, but roses definitely aren’t what come to mind when I hear the name. I totally get wanting to avoid matchiness, but I really do think [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is fine here. Especially because these are middle names.
I’ve totally been here though. My son’s middle name I’d [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and because of that I was avpiding my favorite girl’s name, [name_f]Isidora[/name_f], for my shortlist as a first name option for a future baby. When I consulted other people though, everyone said I was overthinking it, including folks here in these forums. Hearing that others thought it was fine really eased my mind. I hope we’re able to ease yours.
