Is the name Chuck usable??

I really like the name [name]Chuck[/name] for a boy. Not short for [name]Charles[/name] - just [name]Chuck[/name]. (I do actually like the name [name]Charles[/name], but I don’t think I could use it due to negative associations.) I think it’s adorable, but most people I talk to about it scoff.

I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Chuck[/name]! It’s not my normal style, and I don’t have the guts to use it, but I totally think that it’s usable. You might meet some people who will be vehemently opposed to the name, so it might be safer to use it as a middle name. I like [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Chuck[/name] and [name]Chuck[/name] [name]Walden[/name].
Good luck!

I don’t think it would work for a full name. The best way, I think, to tell if any name works is put “doctor” or “attorney” in front of it. If a name works for a professional careers like those it will work for anyone. I personally would hesitate to publish research or present a case under the name [name]Chuck[/name]. I think if you like the full name [name]Charles[/name] use that , if not find another name that you can just [name]Chuck[/name] as a nickname for. They don’t have to “match” per say. My sister is [name]Grace[/name] but my mum always called her [name]Lu[/name]. (It’s a long story). So pick a full name you love and make a nickname you love too.
