I know [name_u]River[/name_u] is not a rare name but do you think only hipsters name their baby [name_u]River[/name_u], or do you think it would be okay?

It annoys me extremely and I love TONS of nature names and unusual names. HIGHLY ANNOYING. Not sure why!
The only [name_u]River[/name_u] I have ever come across was a little girl and she wore it beautifully. The parents were not hipster at all. It’s not weird but it’s unusual enough that I remember this one girl, whereas if her name was [name_f]Lily[/name_f] I’d have long forgotten her. It’s very memorable.

Why would it be? There were 703 girls and 1,223 boys given the name last year; it isn’t even that rare or unusual. It’ll probably be much less so now that [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] Clarkson has chosen it for her daughter. It’s a perfectly legitimate choice. Honestly, even if that weren’t the case, I don’t understand why so many nature names get automatically branded as “weird.”
as far as hipster names go, river is not annoying and also perfectly usable by non hipster people. i don’t find it try-hard at all, it’s just so beautiful! use it!
