Is there a name you almost always suggest?

[name]Just[/name] a for fun question. I was wondering if there is a name you love so much that you frequently suggest it to posters on nameberry, sometimes regardless of their criteria? I really do try and stick to what is asked to be helpful, but sometimes I can’t help throwing in one I love to see if it will stick!

For me I notice I suggest [name]Theodora[/name] quite a lot. I just love it and can’t use it so I want someone else to adopt it! I’ve also been throwing [name]Rhonwen[/name] out there for the same reason, though not as often. You can’t exactly post that one to someone asking for a “classic” or “popular” name.

Any names like that for you?

I don’t know! I think I actually suggest [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] a lot. I’m not sure why, since I really don’t care about [name]Penelope[/name] at all… I love some of its nns ([name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Lola[/name] especially), but the name itself doesn’t sound or look that pretty to me–I just know it’s a NB favorite so I guess I assume it will be well-received, haha. As for [name]Annabel[/name]… I know it’s a NB favorite, and I do love it… I think subconsciously, it’s just me trying to stick a [name]Belle[/name] name in there somewhere! [name]Isabelle[/name] is my very favorite girls’ name but I rarely (if ever!) suggest it because I know it’s too popular for most Berries. I can’t even remember the last time I actually suggested it to someone on here–I mean, I mentioned it earlier today when someone was looking for “I” names, but she’d already mentioned that the [name]Isabella[/name] camp was too popular for her so I just said it was my favorite, and she could see that in my signature, haha.

When people are looking for short-and-sweet names, I usually end up suggesting [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Mia[/name], and [name]Lena[/name], too. I’m not sure why… I absolutely love them, but I guess it’s just because they epitomize “short and sweet” for me.

I suggest names that I can’t use (because of my last name OR because my husband said no).
Girls: [name]Inez[/name], [name]Laramie[/name], [name]Claribel[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Damaris[/name]
Boys: [name]Bram[/name], [name]Desmond[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], [name]Tennessee[/name], [name]York[/name]

I probably suggest [name]Amelia[/name] a lot:) I just love it but doubt I would use it when I have kids.

I like to suggest [name]Serena[/name] for a girl. I think it’s pretty, classic, somewhat unpopular and recognizable - perfect [name]IMO[/name]! Oh, [name]Cordelia[/name] also.

For boys I tend to suggest [name]Callum[/name]. Similar reasons as above - it’s handsome, unpopular, and somewhat recognizable.

I tend to suggest the names that I considered for my own kids, but I didn’t actually use for my own kids. (Either because I found others that I liked more or my husband was not a fan.) Names like: [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name] (I did use this one as a middle name), [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Irene[/name], [name]Margaret[/name] … [name]Henry[/name], [name]Charles[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Theodore[/name]. I do try to stick to the poster’s criteria though! I also tend to “talk up” my own girls’ names if I see them mentioned in a post.

[name]Daphne[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], and [name]Cecily[/name]…my all time dream names that I wanted to use on our daughter but were repeatedly vetoed by my husband. Like tristan, we used [name]Beatrice[/name] for our daughter’s middle name. If we ever do have another girl, he said I can’t use them either, but I love to see them on other little girls too. I also love [name]Milo[/name] for a boy which was repeatedly vetoed. We like [name]Desmond[/name] ([name]Dez[/name]) and [name]Declan[/name] but feel our surname isn’t Irish to ever justify them sounding right. I love those names on little boys.

I used to be suggesting [name]Flavia[/name] and [name]Vita[/name] left and right, but I’ve tapered down lately. Although I think I still suggest [name]Oona[/name] and [name]Iona[/name] a lot.

[name]Genevieve[/name], for it’s accesible nicknames, and [name]Clara[/name], because it’s simple and beautiful and somewhat familiar.
