jlm wrote this as a reply to my post ‘[name]Esme[/name] or [name]Iris[/name]…?’:
"[name]Esme[/name] feels too sexy, almost and [name]Iris[/name] too buttoned up and boring - sort of like opposite ends of a spectrum that [name]Nina[/name] gracefully sits in the middle of. "
I love this because it’s incredibly complimentary to our choice in naming our first daughter [name]Nina[/name] but I am now perpetually stumped about what else sits in the middle of this spectrum along with [name]Nina[/name]?
I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Nina[/name]. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Cara[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Ella[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Ada[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Anna[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Anya[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] and [name]Annika[/name]
I completely agree with jlm’s assessment of [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] not being totally “right” with [name]Nina[/name], a fun name I love, by the way! Here are some of my ideas…
I think you need something fun, spunky, feminine, and sweet to go with [name]Nina[/name]. You want something elegant and light, but you don’t want anything too vintage or harsh, you know? That’s why I love [name]Sasha[/name] with [name]Nina[/name] so much - its got that same exotic flair with a hint of the familiar, it exudes subtle feminine appeal, it sounds young and fun, yet it still sounds sophisticated and demure. Best of luck to you!
I’m glad my comment gave you food for thought, and that the compliment on [name]Nina[/name] was well taken - I do love [name]Nina[/name]!
And, I do think it’s quite possible to find another well-matched name
Others that I think have a similar feel to [name]Nina[/name]:
[name]Anna[/name] (though this is probably too close in sound to [name]Nina[/name]; not sure if they would work as a pair?)
[name]Charlotte[/name] (but this might be a bit too sweet)
[name]Vivian[/name] (unfortunately, I think this is becoming very popular, which may be a detterent, but I do absolutely love it)
[name]Claire[/name]/[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] (perhaps a bit too mainstream?)
Names which feel like a perfect match to me are :
[name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Zita[/name]*
