So I once read a nonfiction book called Poking Holes in the Darkness (about missionaries to a jungle tribe); one name appeared that really stood out: Sonalu. I don’t know much about it, it’s not on Behind the Name or this site, but I like the sound. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know anything about the name, and do you like it with the nickname [name_f]Sosie[/name_f]?
I believe Sonalu is a type of flowering tree that is native to South [name_f]Asia[/name_f] (eg. places like Bangladesh). Another name for it is the [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] fistula or the [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Shower Tree. [name_f]Sosie[/name_f] is usally a nn for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. I think Nali (nah-lee) or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] would be more intuitive nicknames for a Sonalu.
Thanks! I’m glad it’s not completely made up, at least.
