[name_u]Carter[/name_u]. I’ve seen it on worst-name lists, and I don’t get why. I’d like to hear both perspectives!
I have loved [name_u]Carter[/name_u] since I was a child, decades. To each their own. There is not one single name out there that every single person will love.
Nope. For me it’s because it’s a profession, not a name.
I like [name_u]Carter[/name_u] just fine.
I don’t hate [name_u]Carter[/name_u] or in any way think it’s the worst name out there. But personally, there is nothing about the name that interests me, or catches my eye, or draws me in. I have the same feelings toward it as I do the color beige.
I think it’s fine. I’m not big into surnames, but I see nothing wrong with it. I could see it being quite cute on a little boy actually.
I’m indifferent. I don’t really love or hate it. I wouldn’t choose it but wouldn’t cringe if a friend used it for their child.
I admire [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and a character is named [name_u]Carter[/name_u] in my favorite mystery series by [name_u]Jo[/name_u] Dereske.
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] is wonderful! I think it is a classic, strong, and masculine name. But you have to understand, like @lovemysweeties said, there is not one name that everyone will love.
I tend not to like surnames as first names, so no I don’t like [name_u]Carter[/name_u] (or [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], etc.) They’re a step above “kre8tyve” names in my book, though.
I like [name_u]Carter[/name_u]. I probably wouldn’t use it, but it’s strong and clean-cut.
All I hear is “cart her” (eg. throwing a woman in a wheelbarrow or shopping cart :)). I hear many undesirable things with a lot of occupational names ([name_m]Rider[/name_m]/[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]=“ride her” is probably the worse offender). I don’t find most surnames like these very interesting if they don’t have family significance and then they’d better be pretty damn good for me to use them.
I am generally not a fan of either occupational names or surname names so I am not a fan of [name_u]Carter[/name_u]. Apart from that, it just doesn’t sound overly exciting to me. But, yeah, there is no name that everybody likes.
There is nothing wrong with [name_u]Carter[/name_u]. Someone mentioned the ‘cart her’ breakdown and I just wanted to say that it isn’t always the case. With my accent I replace the ‘T’ with a ‘D’ sound. So I don’t know if ‘card her’ is any better.
I don’t see anything wrong with it either. I like surname and occupation names.
I love the name!
I’m fond of surnames as first names, but I’m not that fond of [name_u]Carter[/name_u]. I don’t hate it, but it’s kind of bland for my taste. If you love it you should use it though.
I’m not for or against [name_u]Carter[/name_u], but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!
This. [name_u]Carter[/name_u] is also dated in my area.
I’m indifferent about the name. I personally wouldn’t use it, but I don’t mind it and think it’s a fine name to use.
