Is there more to dulcie?

I love the name Dulcibella. I’ve been seeing it get some love, which made me wonder why we only see “certain” variants of [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] used. [name_f]Dulcet[/name_f],[name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f], [name_f]Dulciana[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcina[/name_f], Dulcibeau, Dulcibel and Dulcibell are all being considered and used, but could the older versions of [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] be revived.

I know that many of them are obsolete but should they stay that way? Would reviving older spellings work with today’s new Kre8tiv spellings, and old revivals like [name_f]Amabel[/name_f], [name_f]Alberta[/name_f], [name_f]Doveva[/name_f], [name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], Mrytle, [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and so on…?

I think it creates more avenues of name options and even gender options, perhaps nn options. What do you think?
Some different spellings include:

Duz, -I’m uncertain about this one
[name_f]Duce[/name_f], - too similar to card names?
[name_f]Dusa[/name_f] - this would work well with nn for [name_f]Drusilla[/name_f]-?
Dowse,
Dous
[name_f]Douce[/name_f],
Dowse,
[name_f]Duce[/name_f] - sounds masculine to me-?
[name_m]Dowson[/name_m] - sounds masculine to me-?
[name_f]Dulcia[/name_f]
Doulce,
Doulse,
[name_f]Dulcey[/name_f],
[name_f]Dulcy[/name_f],
[name_f]Dulce[/name_f],
Dulse, - to similar to pulse-?
Dowlce,
[name_f]Dulcea[/name_f].
Dowsabel - I like this one, it has a handy nNN. [name_f]Doe[/name_f]
or Dousabel – nn. sabel-?

[name_f]Dulce[/name_f] is very used in Mexico, specially with [name_f]Maria[/name_f] after it.
[name_f]Dulce[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] which means sweet [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I only like [name_f]Dulce[/name_f] out of all of them.

Thats awesome. I’m itching to see more Dowsabel’s, and might even consider it myself. I just think it is soo fascinating that people would rather choose cre8tif spelling instead of choosing an older spelling that helps the name stand out and yet is very much legit.

I only like [name_f]Dulcea[/name_f] and [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f]…

[name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] is definitely usable. When I read Dulcibella, I think of decibel and think a screaming infant. Honestly, I am all for the revival of any older name form as long as it doesn’t open up the bearing to ridicule. Prefer the straight [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] or [name_f]Dulcey[/name_f], but I like shorter names.

Dulcibella could even be mispronounced Dulk-eh-bella. I’ve heard that before and I think that more people are familiar with Dolce with two different pronunciations. Which makes me wonder if the older spellings would work better or the very least fit in…I too saw decibel, but after a while that went away.
