Hey ladies, as you may know I’m expecting twins named [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] (still working on the middle name thing…it’s hard!)
I was talking to an acquaintance of mine today and she asked about the other names I was considering before I chose [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jane[/name]…and when I told her [name]Morgan[/name] for the boy she scoffed at me! She was like “[name]Morgan[/name]? That’s a girls name…ew” And weirdly, this is the same response I’ve gotten from just about everyone.
It irritated me a little, and kind of felt personally hurt because [name]Morgan[/name] was my grandfather’s name, and my late father’s middle name (he went by it though) And in the future, if I wanted another child and it was a boy I still might use it.
What is so wrong about [name]Morgan[/name] for a little boy? And why do people have such a horrible reaction to it?
It’s a boys name to me, but like other names I love ([name]Rowan[/name]!!) it’s becoming more prevalent on girls. Such a shame!! I am sad that you had a negative experience about names, the person who said “ew” to [name]Morgan[/name] for a boy obviously has no tact or regard for your feelings, it was very inappropriate (and “ew” is something I only ever hear kids say!! Shows how mature this person is). Asides, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] together, such a great combination!
I think [name]Leo[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] (if that was what you were meaning) is very handsome. Yes, [name]Morgan[/name] is a unisex name now, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be used for the boys. Personally, I prefer it that way!
Have you come up with any middle name ideas for [name]Jane[/name]? ([name]Love[/name] [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] together, by the way!)
[name]Morgan[/name] is perfectly acceptable for a boy in my opinion! [name]Don[/name]'t let those negative opinions keep you from using it (and I’m a unisex-named guy myself).
ETA: I checked the SSA rankings for [name]Morgan[/name] last year; it ranked #457 for boys and #56 for girls, so although it’s quite a bit more popular for girls it certainly isn’t unheard of for boys.
[name]Morgan[/name] has always been a traditional boys name in my mind. I think it’s beautiful and classic, and sounds much too masculine on a little girl in my opinion (when I was little my best friend, female, was called [name]Morgan[/name] and her name definitely did not match her very feminine personality). I second the opinion that [name]Leo[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] sounds great!
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with [name]Morgan[/name] for a boy! In fact, I think I prefer it as a masculine name!
[name]Don[/name]'t let people get you down!
My best friend’s little sister’s name is [name]Morgan[/name]…and she loves it. I had only known one [name]Morgan[/name] until I recently met a guy around 30 with the name…and it suits him very well. I say go for it. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] sounds pretty cool to me
Thanks everybody! I feel a lot better about using it in the future now. I do like [name]Leo[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] a lot…but I’m afraid I like [name]Morgan[/name] too much and would want to use it as a first name in the future. I’m still compiling a list for middle names…so far I’m really having trouble finding any I like. I’ll make a new thread with my list pretty soon, I definitely need help with this middle name thing!
I adore [name]Morgan[/name] or a boy! A-[name]DORE[/name] it! I have a cousin named [name]Morgan[/name] and he is very nice and he is nice looking as well. I much prefer [name]Morgan[/name] on a boy instead of a girl.
First off, I think [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] is a very cute combo! Secondly, there’s nothing wrong with using [name]Morgan[/name] for a boy. It’s a unisex name now, but I personally like it better as a boy’s name. Could be because I can only think of one [name]Morgan[/name] right off hand that I’ve ever known and he was a boy. Plus, like someone else said earlier, [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Freeman[/name].
[name]Morgan[/name] is my brother’s first name and my nephew’s middle name. I’ve certainly met female Morgans, but I also know aother male [name]Morgan[/name]. I think it’s solidly unisex (actually, I think of it as a boy’s name, but that’s probably just because I grew up with one!).
