I’ve been liking the name [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f], but seeing as the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] series is so widely read, it’s unusable–even as one of my novel characters. Now, my question is:
Would Trixibelle work? Is it too associated with the celebrities?
[name_f]EDIT[/name_f]: I just want to clarify that, as mentioned above, THIS IS A NOVEL CHARACTER. So don’t think along the lines of “real adult with this name”…
[name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] sounds sophisticated to me. Trixibelle… a bit trashy. I’m sorry! The sound is okay, but I can’t help but picture a child named by teenage mother. I don’t think it’s a good substitute. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], maybe?
I think it would depend largely on the characterization. My first reaction says no, it sounds like the name of a pet, but there is so much wiggle room in stories, so it really depends. But even with the HP reference, I think you could still get away with [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] as long as it wasn’t a similar character.
