Is this a naming no no?or can I do it?

So I was loving [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Cherry[/name_f], also started to consider [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] or even just

[name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] WhitefieId. What do you think?

My name though is [name_u]Peri[/name_u].

[name_u]Peri[/name_u], [name_f]Cherry[/name_f]. Too rhymie?

Is this a no, no, because I love it.

If [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] had some sort of meaning to you or was a family name, I would be ok with it in the middle. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] has a nice ring to it.

However, I would never name my child [name_f]Cherry[/name_f]. My mind immediately goes to boys saying “Pop her cherry”. Maybe I am a weirdo.

Plus you have the [name_u]Peri[/name_u] and [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] thing too.

Unfortunately the boys would so say that ugh :frowning: [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] is a cute middle name though.

I definitely agree with @cengel73- [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] really isn’t appropriate for a child nowadays. I have an Aunty [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] (real name [name_f]Sakura[/name_f]) who I love dearly, but I would never name a child after her. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is lovely though, and I think [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] could be okay as a middle, but definitely not as a first name option.

[name_f]Cherry[/name_f] is cute as a nickname, but I wouldn’t use it as a given name.

[name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] Whitefield is a lovely name. I don’t see the [name_u]Peri[/name_u] and [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] being the biggest deal as going forward there’s going to be few individuals who will both call you by your first names. If it’s too big a deal you could always call her [name_f]Cherie[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] Whitefield. [name_f]Cherie/name_f has a slightly different sound to it and should help avoid any minimal confusion you might encounter.

I’d avoid [name_f]Cherry[/name_f]. If you want to stay with fruits…

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Peach[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Berry[/name_u]

Normally the rhyme between a parent’s name and a child’s name wouldn’t be a problem for me. Though, some of the thoughts others users had about [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] made me feel it would be best as a middle. I like flamingo’s suggestion of [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Peach[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f]! It’s darling and I think it’s way different from [name_u]Peri[/name_u], even though they rhyme. I say go for it!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] use it as a pet name. It’s cute but not on a grown up, and they do grow up fast x

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t use [name_f]Cherry[/name_f].

My mind went to cherry popping too - definitely not a good connection. The [name_m]French[/name_m] word for cherry is [name_f]Cerise[/name_f], would you consider that?

I would not use [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] as a first name. It sounds silly to me or babyish. Not a very professional name. Dr [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] MD. :frowning:
I think its fine for a cutesy nickname for a little girl or a middle name but def not as first name.

I can see the appeal of [name_f]Cherry[/name_f], but it does remind me of other babyish names like [name_f]Bunny[/name_f] and [name_f]Candy[/name_f]. [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] just sounds like polyester to me.

I wouldn’t pick [name_f]Cherry[/name_f] for a 1st name, but maybe [name_f]Sherry[/name_f], [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f], or [name_f]Cher[/name_f]
