Is this a problem?

I have been settled on the name [name]Juniper[/name] for quite some time for our little girl, with the nn [name]Junie[/name]. Recently though, I’ve become paranoid over this name because of our ln, which is J0hns0n. I really hate our ln to begin with because of the association it has with a male body part, but now when I say the two names together, all I hear is “you need johnson”. Am I crazy for hearing this or will most people also make this connection and will it lead to major teasing?

[name]How[/name] are you pronouncing it? “JOON-ip-er” or “YOO-nee-per”? The latter is the only way I can think how to get anything that sounds like “you need”. The former pronunciation doesn’t sound like that - and the alliteration of the “J’s” sounds very nice. I think you’re worrying over nothing. It’s a lovely name.

I’m pronouncing it JOON-ip-er. I think you’re probably right that I’m getting anxious over nothing.

[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] is cute! I think the alliteration is sweet. And while I can understand your concerns, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Besides, I would think when her LN is used, she’ll be known as “[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]” not “[name]Junie[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]”, although I suppose both are possibilities.

I would go for it! [name]Juniper[/name] is adorable.

I would always say the “J” in [name]Junie[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name]. I like the alliteration!

I think it is an adorable name! I just think you are overthinking this one.

You could call her [name]Peri[/name]/[name]Perry[/name] or just [name]June[/name]

[name]Johnson[/name] is such a very familiar, ‘normal,’ and accepted last name that I don’t think anyone is going to get (or look for) any weird associations or meanings from the name [name]Junie[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]. I really think you are safe. I like the alliteration too.

Thanks everyone! You all have made me feel a lot better. My husband says I’m overthinking it, but I needed more people to weigh in to be sure one way or the other.
@everwaiteing-you would be surprised at how often people have come up with some names (in fun) that would be terrible to pair with our ln…[name]Harry[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Chase[/name], [name]Max[/name], etc. In addition, I’ve ruled out any first names that start with B because of having the initials BJ. So I’m just overly freaked out about name teasing at this point.

I love [name]Juniper[/name] and I think it sounds fine with your last name!
