Is this alliterative name ok too much?

Our first baby is due in a few months and although we have found names we like, we’re a little torn on whether alliterative names are ok or whether they’re “too much.”

We like the name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Myles[/name_m] Li______ but are wondering if there are too many “li” sounds. Our surname has 2 syllables and is 7 letters long. Some other names we liked were [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_u]Tate[/name_u], and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] but we keep coming back to [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m].

All honest opinions would be super helpful! Is [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Myles[/name_m] or [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m] too much with the two-syllable last name?

It really just depends on the other sounds in your last name. Normally names that both start with the same couple of sounds are a bit too much.
I really like both [name_u]Tate[/name_u] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u].

I prefer [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m] for some reason.

I agree with pp that it depends on the sounds in your last name and being that the first two letters are the same it may be too much. I really like [name_u]Tate[/name_u] as well. If you haven’t nailed down a mn I would use [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] in the middle as we don’t often say all our given names together anyway.

It all depends on your surname, but I don’t think it’s a problem at all, love [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Myles[/name_m]/[name_m]Miles[/name_m] by the way!! I slightly prefer the [name_m]Miles[/name_m] spelling, but either way, it’s a lovely name!x

I don’t think it would be too alliterative unless your last name was also [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is a great combo, but I would spell it as [name_m]Miles[/name_m].

I think it sounds great! I really love [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Miles[/name_m], though.

Thanks so much for all of the feedback! We haven’t nailed down any one particular name yet and I happen to prefer [name_m]Miles[/name_m] with an “i” as well. Our surname isn’t [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] but it does end with an ‘n’ sound. Sigh…this is so much more difficult than we thought it was going to be. I actually liked [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Tate[/name_u] originally but was nixed by my wife because she loves the name [name_f]Olive[/name_f] if we were to ever have a girl. we haven’t locked anything down yet but do keep returning to [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] for some reason and think [name_m]Linc[/name_m] could be a cute nickname.
