Is this an intuitive nickname?

Very much crushing on [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] but I do not like [name_m]Rick[/name_m].
I mentioned the name to my dad and he loves the name and he did mention he would be [name_u]Sid[/name_u]?? Which I don’t get at all?

[name_m]Ced[/name_m] or Ceddie is my intuitive nickname for a little [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they work?
What’s your immediate nickname for a [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]?

I can sort of see [name_u]Sid[/name_u] working too but to me it doesn’t have a nice feeling to it as it reminds me of SIDS

Yes I will have to tell him off :rofl:

I would have immediately thought of [name_m]Ced[/name_m]/Ceddie. [name_u]Sid[/name_u] or [name_m]Rick[/name_m] could work but I wouldn’t consider them nearly as intuitive as [name_m]Ced[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], by the way!

Thanks that’s how I feel. Yes me too. Crushing on [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] for overall name. TTC the third in a few months and I really feel like it’ll be another boy. ( I have two boys already)

Ced makes more sense than [name_u]Sid[/name_u]/Cid, but I can see how it works. I prefer [name_m]Ced[/name_m]

Cedric is great. To me [name_m]Ced[/name_m] is a more intuitive shortening than [name_u]Sid[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Sid[/name_u] is avoidable.

The only [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] I’ve known goes by [name_m]Ced[/name_m]! I don’t think [name_u]Sid[/name_u] is likely to come up

I think it works! I don’t have an immediate nickname for [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]

The [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] I know goes by [name_m]Ced[/name_m]/Ceddie, which is more intuitive than [name_m]Rick[/name_m] imo.

I don’t think honesty a nickname suits it. I think it’s a stand-alone name, or at least I don’t have any intuitive thought towards it. [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] is very handsome and lovely.

I agree that [name_m]Ced[/name_m] makes the most sense by far, but I will say that in my accent the difference between [name_m]Ced[/name_m] and [name_u]Sid[/name_u] is almost entirely negligible.

I think [name_m]Ced[/name_m] is intuitive, actually I think it’s the most intuitive nickname for [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]! That said, I know a little [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] and I’ve never known him to go by a nickname at all.
