Is this an issue with Jude?

Hello,

I’m re-thinking [name]Jude[/name]. I had put it aside quite a few months ago because our last name starts with the letter D. So do you think [name]Jude[/name] D____ is awkward to say? I know I pause between saying both names in order to enunciate [name]Jude[/name] properly, but is it a big deal? Let’s use [name]Jude[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] as an example, my last name is often mistaken for [name]Daniel[/name] anyways when I say it quickly

The name is actually quite meaningful for me, ‘Hey [name]Jude[/name]’ was my father’s all-time favourite song, and I can imagine it as my little boy’s bedtime song, but still…I don’t want something that simply sounds bad.

Thank you for any thoughts!

I think it’s fine. [name]Jude[/name]'s a great name, and I think [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are adorable together! I know this issue seems to be a pretty big concern for a lot of Berries, but it just doesn’t matter to me, haha. I love names like [name]Booker[/name] and [name]Baker[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Spencer[/name], and my LN starts with an “R”, I would use it in a heartbeat! Especially [name]Asher[/name]. I think [name]Jude[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] sounds great, and the meaning behind it makes it so much more usable, imo!

Good luck!

I think it sounds fine too. Having to pause a little is better than picking a name with no meaning whatsoever. I love [name]Jude[/name] and I love the meaning you have attached to it.

I love [name]Jude[/name]. I think [name]Jude[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] is handsome and the meaning behind it is perfect

I love [name]Jude[/name], one of my best friends has a [name]Jude[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] who just turned 4. I think it sounds fine with [name]Daniel[/name], and love the meaning for you. Funny, when I found out my friend named her son [name]Jude[/name], as a huge Beatles fan myself I always thought I would be singing “Hey [name]Jude[/name]” to him. After several years though, it hardly ever comes to mind anymore, lol. But regardless, it does have meaning and it a classic, strong name.

Not at all, I think it make it flow nicely!

Go for it!

[name]Jude[/name] is such a beautiful name, and I don’t see a problem with a last name starting with a D. If you love the name, go for it! (I have a friend called [name]Jude[/name] and he’s named after that song!!)

I actually think that the two D’s make it harder for me to slur the names together. Which I think is great. I think [name]Jude[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] is a fabulous choice.

To be honest, I don’t think it matters, because in reality how often is someone referred to by their first name + surname?

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!! I had been kind of prepared to read that it doesn’t sound good (which would have been fine of course, that’s why I asked). I went on ‘parents connect’ to check out bullying issues (because at least half the letters in the alphabet make words that rhyme with [name]Jude[/name]), and it’s interesting that several people (who have the name) actually complained that the song ‘Hey [name]Jude[/name]’ drove them crazy because everyone sang it to them. lol, sometimes you just can’t win. Anyways, we are seriously considering this one again!

lol, I love PC and I love those name surveys (and I’m actually a member there, as well), but sometimes the teasing potential people provide is a bit weird, and I don’t think I would have taken offense at it. Besides, if Mommy is the one singing Hey, [name]Jude[/name], I don’t think I would mind it, you know? [name]Jude[/name]'s lovely, and [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are great. I’m glad you’re considering it again!

Thanks [name]Ashley[/name]. I actually really like [name]Jude[/name] with [name]Avery[/name] too, they seem to go together better than most of the other names that are or have been on my list. [name]Jude[/name] [name]Leo[/name] doesn’t sound great though :frowning: We are also re-considering [name]Leo[/name] (it never really left), but [name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name] is similarly not overly pleasing to the ear.
