I’m really loving [name_f]Melita[/name_f] lately–the meaning, the way it can be easily pronounced in my two languages (Spanish and English) without sounding like a word name, and its usage in Eastern Europe (where my family lives). Nameberry’ description of it is less than favorable, though. So my question is: [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys associate the name with coffee filters?? I’m on the [name_u]West[/name_u] Coast in the US, and I’ve never heard of that filter–but maybe it’s because I’m a coffee snob!
If you do know of the filter, would it make the name unusable, in your opinion? I really don’t want this name ruined!
I’m in Toronto and haven’t heard of it either.
Me too! Nice to see another Torontonian here
That being said, I don’t drink filtered coffee or know of many people who do.
Never heard of it. I don’t think it could be that strong of an association.
I’m in NYC and have never heard of it either
I do know the coffee filter and it’s my first and only association with the name. But I grew up in Europe, and it’s a European coffee filter.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] if more people are familiar with the filter, that doesn’t prevent you from using the name. It’s a neutral association.
Australian, never heard of it. Pretty name
I’m from the UK and have never heard of this either. Sounds like you’re pretty safe, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
Thanks all!! I’m glad to hear it’s only a European brand–Google also tells me it’s spelled with two t’s, so if that’s true, there’s one more reason to not worry! I’m beyond relieved, thank you for such quick responses!"
adds name to list following berry approval
I really like [name_f]Melita[/name_f] and do not make that association.
