Is this butchered and kree8ive or cool and legit?

I met a girl named Greiye recently. She’s in her later 20’s. Is this a creative spelling of [name]Grey[/name]/[name]Gray[/name] or not?

I’ve never seen the name before, and I can’t say it’s my taste. The pronunciation seems a bit ambiguous to me, and I would probably pronounce it [name]GRAY[/name]-uh because of that E on the end. Though there is something pretty about the way it looks, I’d stick with [name]Grey[/name].

I think it looks pretty written out. I’m not usually a fan of creative spellings, but I don’t mind this one. [name]Just[/name] like the previous poster, I might have trouble with its pronunciation though.

It could be a family name/surname spelled that way… not sure. I think I’d assume that was the case, benefit of the doubt and all that

This is exactly what I was going to say. I really do wonder if it’s a family name or an ancient word in some language or another.
If this is a girl you will meet again (and you didn’t card while serving her booze. lol) I’d suggest asking the origin of her name - and of course letting all of us know.
