[name]Hi[/name] everyone,
[name]One[/name] of my favourite girls names is [name]Elizabeth[/name]. However, our surname is [name]Taylor[/name]. Is it cruel to name someone [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]?
Thanks, [name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Hi[/name] everyone,

I wouldn’t say it’s cruel but it’s something I’d avoid.
I don’t think its cruel. [name]Both[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Taylor[/name] are pretty common so I don’t think its a problem.
I agree with this…
I love [name]Elizabeth[/name] too, but I think with the surname [name]Taylor[/name] it’s a bad idea.
Other classics…
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]
Or you could go straight for whatever nn you may have planned on using, like [name]Libby[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] or [name]Beth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name].
Not in the slightest. It’s an absolutely gorgeous name.
What about a diminutive/variant of [name]Elizabeth[/name], such as [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Libby[/name] or Libba?
Well, I would try to stay away from it. [name]How[/name] about [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]?
I don’t think it’s cruel but you will probably get a lot of questionable comments.
Go for it! Nothing wrong with that, its a nice name- just because someone else had it first doesn’t mean you can’t!
I agree with this. I would look at a little [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] and think “hmmm, that was an interesting choice. I wonder if they are big fans?” but I wouldn’t think twice about a [name]Libby[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] or [name]Betsy[/name] [name]Taylor[/name].
Thanks everyone. I think we’ll leave it for middle spot if we use it at all. Our shortlist is currently [name]Emma[/name] [name]Louise[/name], [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name].
I think [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is stunning.
I wouldn’t use it.
I don’t think its cruel. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] was a glamorous, beautiful performer. The height of her popularity is obviously in the past as she is no longer living. Considering children her age would not likely be too aware of who the deceased actress was, I think if you love the name, you should feel comfortable using it. Your little [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be her own person and would have no ties to the actress.
I wouldn’t use it. I think it will forever be annoying for her. People don’t always want to have their names commented upon. She would stand out, and not in a good way.
Not cruel, but not idea either. I’d avoid if possible.
I don’t think you should avoid naming your daughter [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Taylor[/name] if you really love the name [name]Elizabeth[/name]. They’re both popular names so I don’t think it’s weird (or cruel).
It’s not “cruel” but it would probably lead to be people assuming you were a fan of the actress. I would avoid it just to avoid the comments.
I think it is fine. I have heard of her, but I had to look her up before writing this (I’m 22). So I doubt any kids would notice, maybe parents but [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a classic name so if you really love it, go for it!!
