An acquaintance has called her son Kyde. It’s bad, right?
Or am I crazy and this is actually new name in the vein of [name_m]Cale[/name_m] or [name_u]Kade[/name_u]?

It’s like a bad version of [name_m]Clyde[/name_m]… awful
Ew. That’s all I can really say… ew.
[name_u]Kyle[/name_u] - okay.
[name_u]Kade[/name_u] - okay.
Doesn’t mean you have to mix them together!
Yeah, Kyde isn’t good…
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
It’s made up and starts with a K. I just don’t understand it.
I can see [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], but not Kyde! And is Kyde pronounced with a short or long i sound?
Kyde is actually a surname ([name_m]Kyd[/name_m]/Kidd are other spellings) so it’s NOT made up. If it’s a family surname, that’s fine. But if it’s a a trendy smoosh of [name_u]Kyle[/name_u] and [name_u]Cade[/name_u] then that’s unfortunate.
FYI - Actors [name_m]David[/name_m] Duchovny and [name_f]Tea[/name_f] [name_u]Leoni[/name_u] have a son named [name_m]Kyd[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m].
But why would go want to name you kid [name_m]Kyd[/name_m]? O.o No matter how it’s spelt?
