I have a guilty pleasure name: [name_f]Annunciata[/name_f]! I would probably use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] as a nn… It is perfect because I would love to honor my grandmother ([name_f]Anna[/name_f]), and it really has the feminine flow that i adore… But is it TOO much? and also is there pronunciation problems? I always think an- nun- see- at-a but does anyone say an- nun- chi- at- a? (I live in america if that makes a difference)
I actually had no idea how to say it when I saw it. I can see why you like it, but it can easily have the word/term ‘anus’ taken from it, and it just feels all over the map. Definitely too heavy imo.
Sounds like a name that would be used in a heavily Catholic country in Latin [name_u]America[/name_u]. I think as a middle it would be fine, but I wouldn’t use it as a first.
I’d pronounce it ah-nun-see-ah-tah too. It does sound very Catholic and Latinate/Latin American, so I think you’d have to be one or both of those to use it. I’d be pleasantly surprised to meet an [name_f]Annunciata[/name_f] though. It’s great that it honours your grandma and there are so many “normal” nickname options I think it’s fine to use even though it is rather heavy.
