My husband and I have not yet gotten into a deep discussion about baby names, but even so I already have favorites. My favorite for a girl is [name_f]Halina[/name_f] (hah lee nuh), but his ex-girlfriend’s name is [name_f]Holly[/name_f]. Technically, the names are not related but do they sound too similar? I love this name but I just don’t want to use it if it is too evocative of his ex. Thoughts?
I don’t think they really sound alike.
And even if they did a bit, I don’t think it would be an issue. They are clearly different names so one wouldn’t be evocative of the other.

The only person who could answer that definitively would be your husband. I would suggest the name you like but not mention anything about the similarity because he could only make that connection because of your suggestion… if that makes sense?
Nope, I don’t think they’re too alike. Does it make either of you uncomfortable? If so, I’d avoid it. But if both of you are ok with it, I can’t see his ex as a reason not to use it.
