I really like the name Kota meaning happiness, good fortune. It is a Japanese name (which makes it more meaningful because my husband is part Japanese). To make the name more feminine looking I was thinking to spell it with an -ah at the end and have her middle name very girly (also meaningful).
Her full name would be Kotah [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f].
What are your opinions on it?

I prefer Kota to Kotah, but I like it! Reminds me of [name_m]Koda[/name_m] from Brother [name_m]Bear[/name_m] in a good way. Plus it has a really great meaning and origin.

I’m not sure which country you live in, but if it’s the USA or [name_f]Canada[/name_f], I don’t think a girl named Kota would have any problem because of the increasing ethnic diversity in both areas. It is familiar-sounding enough to fit in but it’s also different enough to stand out. It has a lovely meaning and is significant to your family so I think it is a perfect name! I prefer the spelling Kota because it looks more “balanced” or “even” to me rather than Kotah, and Kota(h) [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] is a nice combo!

I love Kota, but not a fan of Kotah. I don’t really see the point of trying to make it girly when its already a feminine Japanese name. Others would probably disagree but i’m just not a fan of trying to alter already beautiful names with a lot of history.
Kota [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] is very pretty though. Although personally i would probably do the middles without a hiphon and just have two middles- Kota [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] looks nicer to me

I prefer [name_m]Koda[/name_m] (I know a girl with this name and she pulls it off well), but Kota is nice too. I don’t like it with the “h” since it seems tacked on. [name_m]Koda[/name_m] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] or Kota [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] would be nice.

I prefer Kota to Kotah. Keep in mind that some might assume it’s a nickname for [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]

I prefer Kota. The “H” is unneeded and takes away from the name. I prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as the middle name.

I don’t like when people have two middle names.

Kota [name_f]Ann[/name_f] looks very cute.

I dont really like it, cause in my country it means ‘chicken’. I prefer [name_m]Koda[/name_m].

I’d personally just assume, from the area where I live and the names I hear often, that her name was short for [name_u]Dakota/name_u which makes me like it a little less.
Also, definitely drop the H at the end. You picked a Japanese name, not a yooneek name.

I love Kota! I think it’s such a sweet name. I agree with other posters that it doesnt need the h. I like Kota much more.

I’m also not a huge fan of the middle. I love [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], just not [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]. I prefer Kota [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (which I think is feminine and beautiful!)
If [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is what you’re in love with though, you should use it. Its still nice, just nms! (Also I agree with pps that I like it better without the hyphen)
