Is this name too old and outdated to be cute?

We are having our second boy, our first is named [name]Finnigan[/name]. Lately, I have been seeing the name [name]Thaddeus[/name] EVERYWHERE. I have even had 2 separate family members refer to it on 2 separate occasions, as a joke though. But it is kind of growing on me. We also like [name]Linus[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name]. What do you think about the name [name]Thaddeus[/name]? [name]Just[/name] too outdated or not? Thanks

No, old fashioned names are back in style these days.

I love [name]Thaddeus[/name]!

I have a nephew named [name]Thaddeus[/name], it works well for him, and definitely doesn’t come off as ‘too old’

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Thaddeus[/name]! It’s in my top 3 for boys names (too bad my husband vetoed it repeatedly!). But it is such a marvelous name! Plus, [name]Tad[/name] and [name]Thad[/name] are such nice nicknames, even Tadpole for a baby! I think it’s simultanusly adorable on a little boy and sexy/sophisticated on a man. Go for it!

I think its great, so for it. [name]Thad[/name] or [name]Tad[/name] are awesome nic names too!

Wow, that’s my grandfather’s (mom’s father) middle name and my uncle’s first name. My mom has been pushing this name on me quite a bit lol She loves it.

I don’t think it’s outdated, but then again old-fashioned is “in” now anyways.

My 5year old has a [name]Thaddeus[/name] in his kindergarten class. I wasn’t sure at first but it has grown on me.

I love it. I think of it like [name]Theodore[/name]'s cooler cousin.

Not at all, antique names can be super cute on little people - I have an [name]Agatha[/name] so I know!

[name]Thaddeus[/name] has a really cool edge in my humble opinion.

I love [name]Thaddeus[/name]- it’s so handsome, and has such a strong sound. I think it’s great. If [name]Theodore[/name] is in, why can’t [name]Thaddeus[/name] be in too? It goes well with [name]Finnigan[/name].
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I could easily see it make a comeback, what with “antique chic” being in nowadays.

Oh, and I think [name]Thaddeus[/name] and [name]Finnigan[/name] go great together!

[name]Thaddeus[/name] is so cute! Like titch said, I think it has an edge. If you like vintage names, I think you should go for it! Vintage isn’t my style, but I still really like the names <3

[name]Love[/name] [name]Thaddeus[/name]! I would love to meet one!

I really like [name]Thaddeus[/name] nn [name]Thad[/name]! It is very cute and like the other posters said old fashioned is so in style!

[name]Thaddeus[/name] is cute! But you have to be aware of the nn [name]Thad[/name], which always sounds like a beef head quarterback to me to be honest. [name]Lincoln[/name] is alittle too president, [name]Colin[/name] is a cute alternative. If your family takes your child’s name as a joke then maybe you should find a similar alternative. [name]Thames[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] Thadis…

I have a soft spot for [name]Thaddeus[/name]! It’s unusual but also fits with the trend towards old-fashioned and [name]Theo[/name]-type names. I don’t think it would look out of place on either a child or adult. What’s amazing is that I’ve never heard it mentioned by anyone, [name]EVER[/name], except for my ex - who was nearly called [name]Thaddeus[/name] (they went for [name]John[/name] instead!!!) and we considered it if we ever had a baby boy (about 15 years ago). Too religioius for my taste, but nice to see it’s finally being used out there
