Does it matter if Fleur Elise sounds a lot like Fleur De lis ?
Would this be silly?
I actually have french family. My mum is half french so I’m not at all bothered but wondered what Berries thought to this?
Verity Fleur Elise specifically.
Thanks

[name_f]My[/name_f] mind immediately goes to the song, yes.
I thought of the piece of music “Fur Elise” by Beethoven, which is an absolute favourite of mine. I wouldn’t have thought of Fluer De Lis if you hadn’t said it… so I guess I’d say no, it doesn’t matter.
I love that melody too Like it’s a bad thing if your name sounds like a piece from one of the greatest composers of all time lol
Not silly at all. It’s lovely.
@anon25197097 Exactly, it’s a pretty nice connection! I was just looking up the Fluer De Lis specifically for negative connotations, but I have come across any so far, so even if people did make that connection, I don’t think it would be bad. Unless I’m missing something.
I just really want to use [name_f]Elise[/name_f], ( the name of my great grandmother) so I am trying to see how I can get it in the name combo without giving up [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]. Thanks for the feedback.
I didn’t think of that when I heard the name, but now that you mention it… I don’t think it’s silly though. [name_m]Just[/name_m] associated with it.
I love this!! I’m from [name_m]Quebec[/name_m] where the Fleur-de-lys is our national flower and on our flag the Fleurdelisé, I would definitely consider using this myself and don’t see why you couldn’t! Definitely not a silly question
Aww that’s lovely. Thank you
Für [name_f]Elise[/name_f] was my first thought, and fleur-de-lys my second. But, that said, I still think it’s usable! It’s honestly quite lovely.
I think it’s usable
I still get [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] De Lis and Für [name_f]Elise[/name_f] mixed up!
I don’t think it’s a silly name choice at all. I respect it 100%.
Like @_thelittlefairywren, I think of Für [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. I also think of [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] De Lis, but that is secondary. I don’t think it’s silly, just an association!
I went to Fur [name_f]Elise[/name_f] myself; I play the piano and Fur [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is one of my favorites! So I sort of love that about it? I don’t think Fur [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or “fleur-de-lis” is a bad association, either way; [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is beautiful!
Like others have said my first thought was Fur [name_f]Elise[/name_f], but that’s not a bad connection! And. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is beautiful
I agree with [name_u]Lynn[/name_u].
I think if they were first and middle it might be a little odd, but as two middles I think it’s fine. They do sound lovely together.
I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]!
No, I don’t think it matters.
