Is This Tacky/Childish?

So, my story is about a girl in a closed cult. Essentially, the antagonist has twisted the words of the Bible to fit his own wants and through a systematic structure she is forced to live both under his rules and completely secluded from society.

At one point in the story she has a daughter. She named this daughter Bluebird as she didn’t want the daughter named a name from the Bible like everyone else in the cult as she is at this point trying to escape for the sake of her child’s future. She calls the baby [name_u]Blue[/name_u].

But is this tacky? There’s the parallel of birds=freedom which is feeling a bit on the nose, though it wasn’t originally intentional. The girl in my story is about 15 at the time she gives birth so she would be slightly childish still but I don’t want my story to give off a juvenile or tacky vibe.

If you do think this is juvenile or tacky, do you have a suggestion for what the baby could be named? She has never heard of anyone outside the cult’s name so she hasn’t heard any other names, she only knows her surroundings which are naturey (hence why I chose Bluebird in the first place.)

I guess she could find a contraband book a name her daughter after a character, but I haven’t determined whether or not she is literate yet…

Idk.

I don’t think it’s tacky. In you character’s situation, it makes perfect sense to name her child that.

If you want a more common name you could change it to [name_u]Robin[/name_u] with the same reasoning behind it, but I’d say keep Bluebird.

No, I think it makes sense in her circumstances. And I would read your story it sounds great.
